When I view the home page using Firefox, I see a big blank space where the video is supposed to be. It is fine in IE. Am I the only one having trouble? If not core team please look into it.

Hi,
My 485 status on USCIS site is showing Document production or Oath Ceremony. The status changed on 7/8/2010. What does this status mean. Does this mean approval? How long does it take to recieve the actual card once the case enters to this state.

Anybody filed your H1 ext yourself? Is it worth it?
This will be my 12th yr extension. I have the previous extension papers (copies) that the lawyer sent me, so i was thinking i can look at those and draft a new ext myself. But with the latest news of H1 denied for consulting companies, is it worth doing it myself? I have worked for the same client for the last 11 yrs.

I think your first point is valid. I would do the same thing. If you are using AP, I don't think you need to go for stamping.
Your second point is some what complicated. As your H1 is expiring in April, if you renew it later in July, it might go for consular processing, which means that you won't get the I 94 with the approval notice. In that case you need to reenter uisng a valid visa.

My spouse got her GC in Sep/2000 filed by her parents. Then went back to India to continue studies with 2 yr permission from INS. Return to US after 2 yr and stayed for 8 months in US and then took trip again back to India for 7 months. And then return back in May/2004 and still here since then.
Outline:
Got GC -- Sep/2000
out of US (Nov/2000 - Oct/2002) with permission from INS or USCIS.
Return to US -- Nov/2002
Stayed 10 months in US
Trip to India --- Sep/2003 (for 7 months)
Return to US -- April/2004
Since April / 2004 here in US.
based on this stasts we my spouse apply for citizenship.
USCIS work sheet eligibility says >> 5 yr GC ->> If not out for 30 months in last 5 yr (true) >> No trip out side of US more then 1 yr. (FALSE - If so execpetion -- took permission - true) >> good moral >> etc., >> APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP.
But when read the eligi. requir. its says absence more then 1 yr cancel all previous contin. of stay ??? confused with this both understanding.....

H-1B through non-profits like Universities does not have a cap. Your only bet would be to find a job through one such an entity and apply for H-1B. Then you can pursue H-1B through any commercial entity during 2008 quota starting from April 2007.

Hi
After waiting for a year for my FP notices and 4 SRs later I guess I took the infopass and went to the local office. The guy out there was quite nice and helpful and gave me the appointment for next day at the local ASC promptly.
Went to the local ASC and was was done in half hour. No issues.....it was a breeze...shd have done it sooner....
And here is the best part: My application had an LUD just 3 hours later.....

They will staple both the paassports and send back to you.

I would like to take a quick poll to find number of people who have filed their 485 when they were single and got married later.
The idea is to get a rough number or percentage of people stuck in this boat in the IV community. This would help to start a proposal for a small fix (either admin or legislative) to be passed on to be included as an item in IV's agenda. Believe there are many families stuck in the EB2 of retrogressed countries and many more in all of Eb3 categories who can benefit from a such an initiative.
Here are the options in the Poll:

My LCA appl has a priority date of June 2004; and so far, Dallas BEC has lost my resent-appl twice. Lawyers failed to retrieve any status after that, and suggested a congressional liaison enquiry into it. If anybody is aware of this enquiry, would you plz let me know? Thanx.

Hi,
I am planning to file EB2 and port my EB3-I140 PD. My current position is System Analyst with EB3 job requirement. I can get a promotion but that doesnt qualify for EB2 job requirement. So I am planning to move to a different position, Research Associate which qualifies for EB2(it requires masters degree) with the same employer. Can I file EB2 with this position and port my EB3-I140 PD? Advice pls.

Following is the situation:
My H1 (6 years) expiring on 7th Mar'08 (have 35 days of vacation might be good till 11th Apr'08)
Labour filed on 06/20/2007 , still awaiting..(so 365 days rule does not apply for 7th yr ext)
Spouse was on H4, got H1 in Oct'2007 (no stamping done for H1).
Falling short of 10 weeks to get the 365 days rule
Options that I learnt for me getting 7th yr extension and staying in the country:
Option1:
Convert to H4 toward the end of H1 6 yrs expiry date till June 20th(to get the 365 days rule in effect)
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Convert from H4 to H1 and start working.
Option 2:
Get Canada working visa (not sure how long it will take to get though) and work till June 20th there (to get the 365 days rule in effect)
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Stamping in canada to return to USA.
(I am hoping 7th year extension can be done while I am outside the country)
Option 3:
Go back to India for 3 months wait till June 20th,
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Stamping in India to return to USA.
(I am hoping 7th year extension can be done while I am outside the country)
Option 4:
Leave for India immediately and stay there for 10 weeks and recapture them along with 7th year extension(while I am in India )

I donot think that these people are directly responsible for creating the issue in the first place....It is a reactive response to the anti-immigrant postures of many candidates...Also people like are us are not eligible to donate to immigrantList...Only citizens or premanant residents can contribute to immigrantList.....
