As a verizon customer, I didn't run out and get the iPhone for 2 reasons:
1. I figured the iPhone 5 would be out in June
2. Verizon isn't as lenient about moving up your New Every Two date as they used to be.

Hey guys,
I originally bought an mbox mini and upgraded to Pro Tools 7.4.2.
In my account on digidesign (Avid Audio)'s website I can download various installer packages and the authorisation codes. However it only goes up to Tiger, and Leopard.
I was wondering , if I upgrade to Snow Leopard. . .does the 7.4.2 version of Pro Tools LE for Leopard run on SL?

to those who switched online, can you confirm that i would need to select the anymobile option and unselect the unlimited text option, as the anymobile includes both? i wasnt to sure so i decided to cancel
I switched as soon as the website went live. Yes, you remove the original messaging option and select the Messaging with Any Mobile.

i see you are using an old mac for your mac hd icon, too! where did you get yours? the one on mine i've had saved for a long time but i haven't found larger versions of these.
and also: are we not able to change things like the "downloads" icon in the dock at all? i can change all of the other ones but i haven't gotten it to work for that one. i didn't have any trouble with documents or the trash so i didn't think there would be a problem with downloads. x.x

I'd give blood as often as possible (and did so a few times before I left the UK) but the rules in New Zealand catch me out. Having lived in the UK during the mad cow disease outbreak (aka nvCJD) in the 1980s means they won't take my blood for a long time yet (I've gone to the donation centres and asked them about it twice). Particularly unfortunate since I'm O negative. But if the blood tests get better and they can verify that the disease is nonexistent and not just dormant, then perhaps more of us here will be able to contribute.

In the U.S., Google does own the map data (http://www.gpsreview.net/google-drops-tele-atlas/). For further confirmation, note that it says "Map data �2011 Google" in the footer when viewing U.S. maps, and says nothing whatsoever about TeleAtlas or Navteq (this is not the case for some other countries). They made this change back around October around the same time that the very first Google Maps Navigation app for Android was released.
Also, driving around (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9809094-1.html?tag=mncol;title) to collect map data is absurd?
I agree with you that the current iOS notifications system is terrible. But you do know you can keep Wi-Fi on and just turn off "Ask to Join Networks", right?

What proportion of iPhone users do you think understand what a cache is? How about what cell tower triangulation is? How about the Core Location framework? Most people don't understand the finer points of how their phone works. The vast majority don't care and just want it to work and not do anything nefarious. As phones get smarter, there are only going to be more things that people don't understand - I think he makes a fair point.

I have found a fun site for those of us that like some of the old time radio programs. http://radiolovers.com/ There is a bunch of stuff there in MP3 ctrl click lets you down load it On the left there is a link for all shows I found this to be a faster way to find what I wanted. Hope that some of you out there have fun with it
