I'm the one who found it. It's the following file:
System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AOSNotification.framework/Resources/English.lprog/Localizable.strings
Cool.
How does one basically decode these string files?
These seem to binary although they have readable text. How can we actually read all the content in those binary files?

It's certainly not as sleek as before but that's my first impression. Not quite as professional looking and the UI is almost 'overdone'.

Well, since I wanted everyone to use my watermarked picture, it was not the best idea. Most people quote their sources, but some don't. As Consomac is still a rather small website, consequences can be huge for us. ;)

How big of a deal performance wise is it that a Mac Pro 1,1 only has PCIE 1.0 slots? Is it a waste to put a newer card in a Mac Pro 1,1 because of this? Will the performance be significantly less? I ask because I am going to be upgrading a Mac Pro 1,1 with quad core CPU's and a 5770 video card.

I wanted an app that would show me the current month and following month's calendars in a small window, for when I'm planning the next couple of week's activities. I found it as CalendarCenter (http://www.macdev.ca/macos/Freeware.html) from MacDev.ca. It's not elegant but it does just the one trick I wanted. I just got back from International Plaza in Tampa, FL and they have the new Second-Generation iPod Shuffle in the store. They are not on display. I went up to the counter and asked for one and the guy had 4 behind another display.
I didn't ask how many they had in stock, but there were at least 3 at the time I left.
Got it all set up. The sound quality puts my 20GB touch-wheel with full-size FireWire connector iPod to shame.
The packaging, as expected, is pretty cool too.
[I tried to be as specific as possible on my iPod naming conventions ;-)]

Are you using Firefox? If so one of your addons is blocking the link. May happen with Safari also.

The iPad isn't a "serious" computer. It's just a toy.
I'm guessing this is sarcasm.
It is a toy. You can't seriously think that professionals are going to depend on Photoshop for iPad and throw away their computer can you? That's like throwing away your computer because GarageBand is also available on the iPad, and attempting to produce an album on an iPad. Impossible.
No matter what Steve says, it is a toy! I think it is brilliant you can do these things on such a simple product for the average user, but they are nothing more than for... the average user.

Apple cannot do anything directly against TJ Maxx as long as they make no false claims such as being an approved Apple seller, or stating false claims about the product and warranty. At most, put them on a banned list and make not selling to TJ Maxx part of their "Approved Reseller" conditions.

Now, if Apple's warranty includes a line about it must be bought from an approved seller, etc, they might be able null the warranty on anyone who's iPad is found to be from TJ Maxx, but that depends in part on the state, and if the warranty has such a line.

It's a bit long, but this is a good read about the state of FCP by Philip Hodgetts (http://www.philiphodgetts.com/2010/09/what-should-apple-do-with-final-cut-pro/):
A very big reason people go w/FCP is because it can do a lot for very little money. If it was priced more in line with Avid Media Composer or Avid Adrenaline I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it wouldn't have become as popular. Apple's typical method of operation when it comes to the ProApps is buy existing software, rebrand it and drop the price dramatically. The most recent, and most radical example, is Apple Color. Apple took what was previously a $25,000 color grading application and tossed it into the Final Cut Suite at no extra charge.
ProRes has only be around since FCP 6 and is one of the few additional features that Apple can really hang its hat on. While Premiere doesn't have any first part codecs along the same lines as ProRes it is more flexible and open to third party codecs than FCP is. A very good, and very popular, 3rd party codec is CineForm.
