I can not take infopass appointment as I don't have receipt number. Alos, I called up USCIS and they informed me that it is taking longer time for entry and so far they don't see my EAD and AP entries in their system. Although they have received I-485 which was sent along EAD/AP. I just wondering if anyone come across similar sitaution, also does it make sense to file EAD/AP again without any further waiting ?
Once you call USCIS on the 1-800-375-5283, try the following option sequence:
1-2-2-6 (key your 485's receipt number) -1-1 (listen to the case status) -3-4.
The last option (#4) enables you to get to an IO since you "filed a few applications together and think that some of them got seperated or lost".
If you already tried the above and it was not fruitful, please disregard this post.

What is the specification for the passport photo? It it 2inch x 2inch or
is it 3.5cm by 3.5cm
I was preparing to use the same as that of GC process, 2inch x 2inch
but now I need to check this out...

Thanks for starting this thread. I have just sent all the four letters even though I am not planning to use the AC21. But I feel sorry for fellow EB's who got rejected because few IO did not know about the AC-21. I get really :mad: P***** O** to see that ppl who are playing by rule have to face hardship at freak'n every stage of GC.

EB 3 India..PD 03/24/2006. EAD approved-10/28/07; AP-01/09 , also same for the derivatives too..I-140 approved 09/13/2007, Also FP done..in OCT.

You can take a 2nd additional job if needed..
Not much benefit if your current job is well paying and going well... Even though I applied for EAD, I am not planning to use it.. But just in case.. You never know WWW in US...
And when you invoke AC21.. You must have EAD in hand...
NB: WWW = Work Women Weather...

I have got my EAD, and my application was filed in EB3, 2005 in perm.
With the kind of speed USCIS is working with, I fear I would never get my GC.
Whereas My brother is a Citizen. Can it be possible that he files family based GC for me ?
I have read that for family based applications they regard the priority date as date of filing I-130.
If I do so, will my current process be wiped off ?
what are the repurcussions.
Please advice.

I understand I can�t invoke AC21, but I was reading somewhere that � if you are changing your sponsored company and found same or similar job, then and then you need to file AC21, in my case my sponsored company is still same and ones I got GC, I will start working for them (like future employment).

If it is not too urgent for you to visit India. I would recommend you reschedule your flight and do H1 in PP. Its just too risky to assume that you will get approval notice before your vacations ends and you will be able to schedule appointment and get stamping done. If I were you, would have postponed unless its absolutely urgent.

Here we go again. When Obama's Democratic Party controlled the House and Senate, Congress failed to pass an immigration bill that would have provided a path to Residency and later Citizenship for some illegal immigrants who entered America as children. The DREAM Act died in the Senate in December due to a Republican filibuster.
With Republicans now controlling the House and holding a stronger minority in the Senate, the chances for any comprehensive immigration reform are considered non-existent.
Obama travels to Texas on Tuesday to make the case that his administration has worked hard to secure the border and the time has come for Congress to deal with the 10.8 million people already in the U.S. illegally.
He will also argue that those who care about this issue need to step up pressure on Congress to act, a point he has made privately in a string of meetings with business executives, evangelical leaders and Hispanic celebrities.
Many activists blame the White House for not making the issue more of a priority, and Tuesday's speech is an effort, in part, to shift attention to Republicans who are blocking action.
Many Republicans and some Democrats oppose the measures Mr. Obama favors that would create a path to citizenship for some people who entered the country illegally, saying it would reward law-breaking. Opponents also say not enough has been done to secure the border with Mexico. The White House says it has put more "boots on the ground" along the southwest border than ever before and has cracked down on employers who hire undocumented workers.

Hello everyone,
My driver's license has come up for renewal in Feb 2009. I have 2 yrs EAD.I have send my H1 for renewal but it has not got yet approved..
My employer suggessted that I use my EAD card to get my license renewed. In Ideal case I would like to use my approved H1 to renew my license. However since its taking time for my H1 renewal can I use my EAD card to get my license renewed.

Congratulations on our first BIG SUCCESS! Your efforts, time, and resources spent have paid back!
While rejoicing our victory, I remind myself that this is the first. There are still challenges for each individual and our community on the journey of legal EB immigration:
(1) How will the CIS, DOS, DHS, and FBI handle the job in the future?
(2) What will the increased fee be used for? How can we and other goverment agencies monitor the accountability?
Let's think about what's next... Will this success be the end or the beginning of our grassroot activism? Does the present move by CIS mean efficient services in the future?
Take care, enjoy the moment and plan for the future.
