...file > export > layouts as project > pick version 8. Will this work in 8.5?
Yes, should do :)
All versions of QuarkXpress should open docs which were created with earlier versions. Though there is the occasional passport / multi-langauage version problem which is just a pain in the bum: "This is a multiple language document and can only be opened in QuarkXPress Passport. [287]" *but that's a different topic entirely.

You already asked about heat issues in another thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1145803) and were told that you don't have heat issues. Your MBP is working as designed. You don't need to do anything to your thermal paste.

Thanks for the response! I know it's a rare issue that virtually all others aren't having. I really wasn't trying to bust on the Win experience - I'm just getting spoiled to the advantages of the hardware and software coming from the same vendor.
It looks like everything is set up correctly on the device side. Boot Camp is all up to date (3.2) and I've been trolling the web for days looking for updated audio drivers. It's driving me crazy!
Are there lots of MBA Late 2010'ers with Win 7 boot camp installs working without any audio issues? Everything else is perfect, but I never realized how much of a pain it is to grab a pair of headphones every time I need audio.

Look at it this way, if you want your iPod Touch to look as generic as the millions of others; be my guest, but I'd rather be a rebel than a person who's willing to be one of the iPod Touch owners afraid of change...
Why even buy an iPod Touch like the millions of other sheep and continue to line God Jobs' pockets when you could buy some other device and give Steve-O the finger?

Basically any time-appropriate game from Ambrosia will be awesome on there. Apeiron is probably the most fun though. A thoroughly modernized Centipede. :D

i am visiting apps that i bought via itunes and there is no any info there that i bought or not. So, if i format or change my mac then can i restore with that backed up folder?
There isn't really an indication on the iPhone or iTunes App Store, but if you click Buy, it will tell you that you already paid for this app and starts to download for free.

Since there is Airtunes, Airport, Airbook would be a possible name...
If not this is refering to AirTV...
Just speculation.
RSAi like the sound of that "Airbook" cant wait to stream the keynote from steve:apple:

In OS X you can literally control just about any aspect of the the operating system via terminal. I would argue that an expert *nix user has more "unrestricted control" over OS X than an expert windows user can have under XP.
I think an important thing to consider is how easy to use this control over the system is, a unix terminal is not very easy to use. Windows will offer GUI tools for such tasks like regedit. Though the thing is there is really very little a typical power user will need to change in OSX that can't be done from the GUI. The only thing I've needed to change from the terminal is the smb.conf file to put in the correct workgroup.

4 pin = 400 FW no power - used on DV video cameras
6 pin = 400 FW with power - HD's, scanners, etc
9 pin = 800 FW with power
The great thing about firewire... no processor power is used, unlike USB that uses the processor.I've always heard the 6pin variant referred to as FW600 while FW400 was reserved only for the mini 4pin which doesn't have power. I realize it may not be technically correct but it's always allowed easier differentiation between the two connectors.

A service bureau is way to expensive in the long run. I have over 25,000 slides of my Grandfather's to scan for a gallery show/book next year. Getting them pro-scanned would break the bank. I think I'll be buying a couple of dedicated slide scanners. I'm leaning towards Nikon's scanners - that digitalICE software is great.

im getting pissed at sprint because their 3G plans suck total ass. they have not planned mac compatibility with ANY of their new phones, so they will soon be getting the axe from me. If apple doesnt come out with a new phone by mid2003, then I will by the Moto v600 which should be out by that time.

Very nice. I'm glad you took my suggestion and starting making some flying llama avatars. I'm sure you'll come up with some very funny stuff.
